Party like it's 1977 (Do you believe in Magic) Methactonian 1977 Triva

Greetings MHS 1977:
Most Gullible Male RC Gronwaldt is inviting you to venture down memory lane, or would that be Kriebel Mill Road?  First thought thou, are yearbooks still printed or is everything on social media?  If so, how do people sign your yearbook?  Are there still personal notes from Loretta, Sheryl, Lynn and Denise with salutations like: remember me always, stay well (?), luv, and love.......I don't remember so much love back then, but I digress.
So lets open up that old yearbook, if your first, second or even third spouse has not thrown it out!  Whoever answers all these trivia questions correctly will win a REALLY GREAT KEEPSAKE.  However, you must be present to win (actually attend our 40th Reunion)
Question 1: On page 6, what is Sharon Molinaro holding in her hands, and the answer is not"a book".
2: On page 10, Jay Freed is showing off his ability to grow facial hair, which I STILL have not achieved, hahah.  On what page is he actually clean shaven?
3: On page 14, what is the style of jacket Marty Freed is wearing (no more Freed Questions I promise)
4: On page 25 what TV Character from the 70's does the school nurse share a name with?
5: On page 34 what teacher graduated from my Alma Mater Drexel University?
6:On page 48 what restaurant is Mark Skelton's hat from?
7: On page 58 which former Spanish Teacher worked at the Tavern on Dan Cippolini's shirt?

Remember how popular those Adidas sneakers were?
Stay tuned for our next post where we introduce your Reunion Committee past and present.
Arky Bob signing off!

FAQ's - Frequently Asked Questions

It has been brought to our attention that there maybe some confusion and misinformation floating around cyber space regarding the reunion and information contained in our Save the Date Announcement and on our Blog.

1) What is the best way to get information about the reunion?

     Email the Committee at classof77mhs@gmail.com

2) Why did I not get an immediate response to my email question?

We are all volunteers.  We sometimes travel or have other obligations such as work and family.  We will make every effort to answer you questions as soon as possible.

3) Did you evaluate other possible venues before deciding on the Radisson Valley Forge Hotel?

We evaluated over a dozen venues ranging from restaurants, fire halls and catering facilities and    based on our anticipated attendance, location, costs and facility amenities choose the Radisson.

4) Why do we offer an Early Bird Discount?

To offset expenditures.  Some of the committee members have loaned us hundreds of  dollars to pay the deposit and event insurance.  Early Bird pricing will be available for 40 days and then we will raise prices by $5.

5) Why are SoandSo on the missing classmate Page and how can I get my name removed from the page?

The Missing Classmate page lists classmates that we do not have a valid email address.  The missing classmate page has been a valuable resource and in the last 3 months we have been able to contact over 15 classmates.

Please email us at classof77mhs@gmail.com to remove your name from the Missing Classmate Page.

6) How can I be removed from the mailing list?

Please email us at classof77mhs@gmail.com to remove your name from the mailing list.

7) What efforts are being made to locate missing classmates?

We are looking for help from everyone.  The committee has used online tools such as Facebook, LinkedIn and WhitePages.com to locate as many classmates as possible.

8) How will be communicating the event?

By email, this Blog and Facebook.  We also will be looking at posting this event on the Methacton School District Site.

9) The Save the Date Announcement says you will be serving "Tailgate Fare".  What is that and the price seems expensive for that menu?

We have not finalized the menu but here are the possible choices:

Here are the options from the Tailgate Menu
Station 1- Slider Station, Hamburger, Cheeseburger, BBQ Pork, Crab Cake
Station 2- Chicken Wings
Station 3- Trio Macaroni and Cheese, Lobster Mac, Buffalo Chicken, Gorgonzola/wild mushroom and vegetable
Station 4- Philly Cheesesteak
Station 5- Chicken Quesadillas
Assorted Snacks and Desserts
Reception Package Menu
Pasta Bar- various sauces and toppings to choose from seafood to vegetables to sausage
Marinated Roasted Vegetables Antipasti
Scallops wrapped Bacon
Grilled Fruit and Cheese

The food is priced per person, we have additional expenses such as bartender, decorations and event insurance that are also factored in the price.  The price of admission also allows access to the casino and entertainment venues for after hours entertainment.

10) What other activities are planned for the reunion weekend?

We are encouraging classmates to organize other get togethers over the weekend.  For example, folks you shared the stage (Drama, Chorus, Band), the fields, courts and pools (Swim Team, Football Team, Marching Band), grow up with (Brenda Lane Kids, Worcester Elementary).  We have also had folks inquire about organizing activities such as golfing, fundraisers or shopping.  We will gladly promote other weekend events through our email communication and the blog.

Hello Alums, 1977 is calling you.  Your 40TH REUNION COMMITTEE has been hard at work.  And I feel confident is saying the effort has not be PUTIN'ed.......So feel safe in reading this, AND opening any email from us, or at least after 12:00pm today February 14th.

The Class Reunion will be on October 21st at the Valley Forge Casino.  For those of you who have not lost all of their brain cells, this is the former location of the Valley Forge Sheraton, and a popular Movie Theatre where I snuck into my first "R" rated movie with George Karr and Jay Freed to see Warren Beatty and Carrie Fisher in Shampoo.  Some of you may have seen Carrie in a more family related plot line in STAR WARS during the same year 1977.

The Casino has all your favorite table games, slots, sports bars, outdoor areas for those of you that still smoke (cigars for me).  Or now favor those e-cigs with less noxious/toxic water vapor!

There will be a group of discounted rooms for people like my wife and I who REALLY don't want to stay with their siblings even though they only live five miles or so away.  We will keep the cost down by having a CASH BAR and more of a cocktail party food delivery rather than a sit down dinner.  So stay tuned for further developments.  .

Now let's get to the FUN stuff.  I show our yearbook above, as we how have a game to play.  The first one who responds to the blog with all the correct answers gets a free drink coupon or possibly a commemorative class of 77 alumni gift.   Members of the committee are NOT eligible, and yours truly has the final word on the correct answers.  Let the games begin:

1) On PAGE 6, What is Sharon holding in her hands?
2) On PAGE 14, What type of jacket is Marty Freed wearing?
3) On PAGE 25, What TV Character does school nurse Mrs. De Marco share a first name with?(hint the setting is an unpopular war in Southeast Asia)
4) On PAGE 34, What female teacher graduated from my College Alma Mater of Drexel University?
5) On PAGE 48, What Fast Food Restaurant is Mark Skelton's hat from?
BONUS:  On PAGE 58, Dan Cipollini is wearing a shirt from a local tavern that one of our teachers allegedly worked at in her spare time.  Who was that teacher?

Next month we will be giving out another great prize dealing with 1977 trivia.....Aren't we excited?!
Arky Bob (Robert Gronwaldt) signing off.

Remember when Methacton Class of 1977 Remembers....

Hello you bunch of Fighting Farmers who feel 57 is the new 56 hahaha, 36?  Probably 46.  Anyway the new class clown has been BEGGED by your reunion committee to post a regular blog to generate interest, AND GREAT FEEDBACK, from you middle aged AARP blue hairs and blue beards (sorry Linda you are still a natural blonde),,,,,,RIGHT!    So away we go.  I would like anyone actually reading this to send me a funny, not necessarily politically correct (like the Donald) story from way back when.  Like does anyone know why Miss Kerr wore the same set of warm up pants from 1974 - 1977?  So send something in and I'll add to it from my boundless memory of gullible Bobby G moments.....He I am now a secret agent martini mixer.  And the bow tie was really tied by yours truly.
